A Truly Special Home with Great Views near the Beach!

Home for sale in MiddletownA home with this kind of character, in such great condition is truly rare. When it comes with a panoramic view of Sandy Hook Bay beyond, it's exceptional. Whether it's the 9' ceilings, the gorgeous pocket doors, the substantial wood trim & period fireplace or the slate & glass tile kitchen floor, you'll know you've discovered something unique & wonderful.

<View this property's website now!>

High on the hill looking out to the ocean, the bay & beyond, sits this 5 bedroom, 3 bath home that offers a stylish mix of old world and contemporary aesthetics.

Victorian DoorThe Victorian character of its past is evident in the rich moldings, 8' solid wood doors, antique hardware, claw foot bathtubs, porcelain kitchen sink, bedroom built-ins & stained glass windows.

A more modern design sensibility is apparent in the materials & fixtures such as the slate & glass tile flooring of the kitchen & 1st floor bath, the Dacor 6-burner dual-fuel range, the iridescent glass tile floor of the 2nd floor bath and the 3rd floor bath's copper sink.

Views of bayPerhaps best of all, the extensive renovation which included new Pella windows, updated electric, great appliances and more, means you can move right in.

The large yard offers a large level space for playing or gardening. And the large wraparound deck off the living room allows for easy indoor/outdoor entertaining with views of the water and NYC in the distance. A perfect weekend getaway or year round residence. Great schools (Navesink Elementary, Bayshore Middle, Middletown South High School).

Walk to the ocean, riverfront, NYC high-speed ferry, and to some of the best-rated restaurants in New Jersey (just check Zagat!)

1st Quarter Showing Great Improvement over Last Year

As we approach the end of the first quarter I've been curious to see how we're faring relative to last year...

Earlier this quarter I had the impression that things were definitely picking up -- then came the 'season of extreme weather'.  As people fled for shelter, comfort food and the Home Depot, they seemed to be avoiding the home buying process.

But alas, for our market area we're on track for almost a 20% increase in sales over 1st Qtr 2009.  Of course, that period last year was truly a dark time (31% down from previous year's 1st quarter sales) so we're no where near where we had been but it's a positive sign neverthless.  What is also encouraging is that the price ranges that have been experiencing the big increase is not the low-end which had been the realm of short sales and foreclosures... the biggest gains were in the $500-$5700K range and even above $1.5 million.

See market stats below - please note these are as of today, March 26th, and don't reflect the full quarter sales as yet.Monmouth County YTD
